Conan the Destroyer Conan the Destroyer, directed by action/fantasy veteran Richard Fleischer (20,000 Leagues under the Sea, The Vikings) as a sequel to Conan The Barbarian, was released worldwide in 1984. It starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan and Grace Jones as Zula. The critical and commercial response was weaker than that for the first film as it was felt by some viewers to have jettisoned the bloody, brooding ambiance of the original John Milius film, instead opting for a more children-friendly adventure.
