:42:02
Well, one thing I will say.
The fire swamp certainly
does keep you on your toes.

:42:13
This will all soon be
but a happy memory,

:42:17
because Roberts' ship "Revenge"
is anchored at the far end

:42:20
- and I, as you know, am Roberts.
- But how is that possible?

:42:23
Since he's been marauding twenty years
and you only left me five years ago?

:42:27
I myself am often surprised
at life's little quirks.

:42:32
You see, what I told you before
about saying "please" was true.

:42:37
It intrigued Roberts,
as did my descriptions of your beauty.

:42:41
Finally, Roberts decided something.
He said:

:42:44
"All right, Westley, I've never had a valet.
You can try it for tonight."

:42:48
"I'll most likely kill you in the morning."
:42:51
Three years he said that:
:42:53
"Good night, Westley. Good work. Sleep well.
I'll most likely kill you in the morning."

:42:57
It was a fine time for me. I was learning
to fence, to fight, anything anyone would teach me.

:43:02
And Roberts and I eventually became friends.
And then it happened.

:43:06
What?
Go on.

:43:09
Roberts had grown so rich,
he wanted to retire.

:43:12
So he took me to his cabin
and told me his secret.

:43:16
"I am not the dread pirate Roberts", he said,
"My name is Ryan."

:43:21
"I inherited this ship from
the previous dread pirate Roberts",

:43:24
"just as you will inherit it from me."
:43:26
"The man I inherited it from was not
the real dread pirate Roberts, either."

:43:29
"His name was Cummerbund.
The real Roberts has been
retired fifteen years"

:43:33
"and living like a king in Patagonia."
:43:36
Then he explained the name was the important
thing for inspiring the necessary fear.

:43:41
You see, no one would surrender
to the dread pirate Westley.

:43:45
So we sailed ashore,
took on an entirely new crew

:43:48
and he stayed aboard for awhile as first mate,
all the time calling me Roberts.

:43:52
Once the crew believed, he left the ship
and I have been Roberts ever since.

:43:57
Except, now that we're together, I shall retire
and hand the name over to someone else.
