:58:02
Begins with the king as a boy
having to sleep alone...

:58:06
...in the forest to prove
his courage so he can become king.

:58:10
While he's spending
the night alone...

:58:13
...he's visited by a sacred vision.
:58:16
Out of the fire
appears the Holy Grail...

:58:20
...symbol of God's divine grace.
:58:24
A voice said to him,
"You shall be keeper of the Grail...

:58:27
...so that it may heal
the hearts of men."

:58:31
But the boy was blinded by
greater visions of a life...

:58:34
...filled with power
and glory and beauty.

:58:38
And in this state
of radical amazement...

:58:41
...he felt for a brief moment,
not like a boy...

:58:45
...but invincible.
:58:47
Like God.
:58:49
So he reached in the fire
to take the Grail...

:58:52
...and the Grail vanished...
:58:55
...leaving him with his hand
in the fire to be terribly wounded.

:59:00
Now, as this boy grew older...
:59:03
...his wound grew deeper.
:59:06
Until one day...
:59:08
...life for him lost its reason.
:59:12
He had no faith in any men,
not even himself.

:59:15
He couldn't love...
:59:17
...or feel loved.
He was sick with experience.

:59:21
He began to die.
:59:24
One day, a fool wandered
into the castle...

:59:27
...and found the king alone.
:59:30
And being a fool, he was simple-minded.
He didn't see a king.

:59:34
He only saw a man alone...
:59:36
...and in pain.
:59:38
And he asked the king,
"What ails you, friend?"

:59:42
And the king replied:
:59:43
" I'm thirsty and I need some water
to cool my throat."

:59:50
So the fool took a cup from beside
his bed, filled it with water...

:59:54
...and handed it to the king.
:59:56
And as the king began to drink...
:59:59
...he realized his wound was healed.
