:35:00
Come quick! Come quick!
:35:01
There's a black lady
on television,

:35:03
and she ain't no maid!"
:35:06
Ha ha ha!
:35:08
And she said,
"l knew right then and there

:35:12
I could be anybody
I wanted to be.

:35:15
I could be anything
I wanted to be."

:35:17
And so she decided to be
a superstar.

:35:20
Ha ha! And her name
is Whoopi Goldberg.

:35:22
I'm Joyce Mason.
:35:24
And I'm Evelyn de Biase.
:35:25
And we host a radio show called
Talk Trek and Beyond.

:35:28
The way it got started was,
:35:30
we were on our lunch hour
one time at work,

:35:32
and we thought
about Trek-- talking Trek.

:35:34
You know, it's a lot of fun,
something we do a lot of,

:35:38
so we decided it would be
a great radio show.

:35:40
How do you do it?
Well, I called up

:35:43
the directory assistance
on the phone,

:35:45
and I asked for the telephone number
of a radio station,

:35:49
and she asked me...
:35:51
"Which one do you want?"
:35:52
I didn't know,
so I said, "Pick one."

:35:54
And she did.
:35:56
She picked out
this radio station--KAV.

:35:58
We packed up our things,
went over.

:36:00
Two weeks later,
we were on the air.

:36:02
First time.
:36:04
That was 7 years ago,
and we're still on!

:36:06
Ha ha ha! And it's been
a lot of fun.

:36:09
We didn't have the foggiest idea
what we were doing that first night,

:36:12
but--
And we still don't. Ha ha!

:36:14
Man:...a convention on the air.
:36:16
[Fanfare Playing]
:36:20
Evening, gentle beings.
How are you all doing tonight?

:36:22
Welcome to Talk Trek and Beyond.
This is Joyce.

:36:24
We're delighted
to be with you.

:36:26
We're going to have
a good time tonight.

:36:28
We have a very special guest
with us-- Denise Crosby.

:36:31
Denise Crosby!
Yay! Woo-hoo!

:36:34
Hey, guys,
are you ready?

:36:35
I know that our listeners
are just dying to talk to you.

:36:38
Hey, John in Portland, Oregon,
on line one.

:36:40
Hey, Portland!
:36:42
John: Yes, hi, you guys.
Hi, Denise.

:36:44
Crosby: Hi, John.
:36:46
One thing I'd like to say--
without "Skin of Evil,"

:36:48
there could have been
no "Yesterday's Enterprise."

:36:50
Right, exactly. There's some irony
in that, isn't there?

:36:53
- Yes.
- I mean, I always felt I had to die

:36:55
and get off the show
to get the best episode.

:36:58
I love this-- being able to talk
to you like this
