But it sounds like--
What else are you gonna do, right?

1:27:03
Anyway, I read this essay
by Philip K.. Dick.

1:27:06
What, you read it
in your dream?

1:27:08
No, no. I read it
before the dream.

1:27:11
It was the preamble
to the dream.

1:27:13
It was about that book,
Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said.

1:27:16
- You know that one?
- Yeah, yeah. He won
an award for that one.

1:27:19
Right. That's the one
he wrote really fast.

1:27:22
It just, like, flowed
right out of him.

1:27:24
He felt he was sort
of channeling it or something.

1:27:26
But anyway, about four years
after it was published,

1:27:29
he was at this party
and he met this woman...

1:27:31
who had the same name
as the woman character in the book.

1:27:34
And she had a boyfriend with
the same name as the boyfriend
character in the book.

1:27:38
and she was having an affair
with this guy, the chief of police.

1:27:41
And he had the same name
as the chief of police in his book.

1:27:45
So she's telling him
all this stuff from her life,

1:27:47
and everything she's saying
is right out of his book.

1:27:49
So that's really freaking him out,
but what can he do?

1:27:53
And shortly after that,
he was going to mail a letter,

1:27:56
and he saw this kind of, um, dangerous,
shady-looking guy standing by his car.

1:28:02
But instead of avoiding him, which he
said he usually would have done,

1:28:05
he walked right up to him
and said, "Can I help you?"

1:28:07
And the guy said,
"Yeah. I ran out of gas."

1:28:10
He pulls out his wallet and he
hands him some money, which he
says he never would have done.

1:28:14
And then he gets home and
he thinks, "Wait a second.

1:28:17
This guy can't get
to a gas station. He's out of gas."

1:28:20
So he gets back in his car. He finds
the guy, takes him to the gas station.

1:28:25
And as he's pulling up
to the gas station,

1:28:27
he realizes, " Hey,
this is in my book too.

1:28:30
This exact station.
This exact guy. Everything. "

1:28:34
So this whole episode
is kind of creepy, right?

1:28:38
And he's telling
his priest about it,

1:28:40
describing
how he wrote this book,

1:28:42
and four years later,
all these things happened to him.

1:28:44
And as he's telling it to him, the
priest says, "That's the Book of Acts.

1:28:48
You're describing
the Book of Acts."

1:28:50
He's like,
"I've never read
the Book of Acts."

1:28:52
So he goes home
and reads the Book of Acts,

1:28:54
and it's, like,
you know, uncanny.

1:28:56
Even the characters' names
are the same as in the Bible.
