:37:00
so the Jewish authorities
told the man who had been healed:

:37:05
This is a Sabbath, and it is against our law
for you to carry your mat.

:37:09
The man who made me well
told me to pick up my mat and walk.

:37:16
Who is the man who told you to do this?
:37:20
But the man who had been healed
did not know who Jesus was...

:37:24
for there was a crowd in that place,
and Jesus had slipped away.

:37:31
Afterwards, Jesus found him in the Temple.
:37:37
You're well now...
:37:39
so stop sinning...
:37:41
or something worse may happen to you.
:37:48
Then the man left...
:37:50
and told the Jewish authorities
that it was Jesus who had healed him.

:38:00
So they began to persecute Jesus...
:38:03
because he had done this healing
on a Sabbath.

:38:09
Jesus answered them:
:38:11
My Father is always working.
:38:17
And l, too, must work.
:38:19
This saying made the Jewish authorities
all the more determined to kill him.

:38:24
Not only had he broken the Sabbath law...
:38:27
but he had said
that God was his own Father...

:38:30
and, in this way,
had made himself equal with God.

:38:34
So Jesus answered them:
:38:37
I tell you the truth!
:38:40
The Son can do nothing on his own!
:38:43
He does only what he sees his Father doing!
What the Father does, the Son also does.

:38:49
For the Father loves the Son...
:38:51
and shows him all that he himself is doing.
:38:55
He will show him even greater things
to do than this, and you will all be amazed!

:38:59
Just as the Father raises the dead
and gives them life...
