:41:01
and you were willing, for a while,
to enjoy his light.

:41:04
But I have a witness on my behalf...
:41:06
which is even greater than the witness
that John gave.

:41:09
What I do...
:41:11
that is, the deeds my Father gave me to do...
:41:14
these speak on my behalf
and show that the Father has sent me.

:41:18
And the Father who sent me
also testifies on my behalf.

:41:23
You have never heard his voice
or seen his face...

:41:26
and you do not keep his message
in your hearts...

:41:28
for you do not believe
in the one whom he sent.

:41:31
You study the Scriptures,
because you think that in them...

:41:34
you will find eternal life!
And these very scriptures speak about me!

:41:38
Yet you are not willing to come to me
in order to have life.

:41:43
I am not looking for human praise.
:41:46
But I know what kind of people you are.
:41:49
And I know that you have no love for God
in your hearts.

:41:55
I have come with my Father's authority,
but you have not received me.

:42:00
When, however, someone comes
with his own authority, you will receive him.

:42:05
You like to receive praise
from one another...

:42:08
but you do not try to win praise
from the one who alone is God!

:42:12
How, then, can you believe me?
:42:14
Do not think, however, that I am the one
who will accuse you to my Father.

:42:18
Moses, in whom you have put your hope,
is the very one who will accuse you.

:42:24
If you had really believed Moses,
you would've believed me...

:42:27
because he wrote about me.
:42:29
But since you do not believe what he wrote,
how can you believe what I say?

:42:48
After this, Jesus went across Lake Galilee...
:42:51
or Lake Tiberias, as it is also called.
