1:03:00
He says that we will look for him...
1:03:04
but will not find him...
1:03:07
and that we cannot go where he will be.
1:03:12
What does he mean?
1:03:14
On the last and most important day
of the festival...

1:03:17
Jesus stood up and said in a loud voice:
1:03:19
Whoever is thirsty should come to me,
and whoever believes in me should drink.

1:03:25
As the scripture says:
1:03:26
"Streams of life-giving water
will pour out from his side."

1:03:30
Jesus said this about the Spirit...
1:03:32
which those who believed in him
were going to receive.

1:03:35
At that time,
the Spirit had not yet been given...

1:03:39
because Jesus had not been raised to glory.
1:03:43
Some of the people in the crowd
heard him say this.

1:03:46
This man is really the Prophet!
1:03:50
The Messiah will not come from Galilee!
1:03:53
The scripture says that the Messiah
will be a descendant of King David...

1:03:58
and will be born in Bethlehem,
the town where David lived.

1:04:04
So there was a division in the crowd
because of Jesus.

1:04:07
Some wanted to seize him...
1:04:09
but no one laid a hand on him.
1:04:14
When the guards went back...
1:04:15
the chief priests and Pharisees asked them:
1:04:19
Why did you not bring him?
1:04:21
Nobody has ever talked the way
this man does.

1:04:24
Did he fool you, too?
1:04:27
Have you ever known one of the authorities
or one Pharisee to believe in him?

1:04:33
This crowd does not know
the Law of Moses.

1:04:42
So they are under God's curse.
1:04:44
One of the Pharisees there was Nicodemus,
the man who had gone to see Jesus before.

1:04:49
According to our Law, we cannot
condemn people before hearing them...

1:04:55
and finding out what they have done.
1:04:58
Are you also from Galilee?
