It was ridged.
It had like big ridges and stuff.

1:02:02
There are now thousands
of K/S zines out there.

1:02:05
It's way too late to stop it.
1:02:07
My name is Daryl Frazetti,
this is Bones,

1:02:10
and we've gone to about a dozen
Star Trek conventions together.

1:02:13
I do that with him
1:02:15
mainly because he enters
the costume contests,

1:02:16
and it's something fun
for both of us to do together.

1:02:19
We have a lot of fun doing it
with the people we meet.

1:02:22
He's got his little med kit
right here--his props.

1:02:26
this is the original
Trek scrub top,

1:02:29
and this is the science insignia
1:02:31
and his DeForest Kelley pin
that he always wears for luck.

1:02:35
We're probably bigger
classic Trek fans

1:02:38
than any of the other shows,
1:02:40
and DeForest Kelley happens
to be our favorite actor.

1:02:42
He will sit there
and watch television.

1:02:44
Some cats will sit there
and watch television.

1:02:46
Some of them actually
even respond to the phasers

1:02:49
or some of the ships
going by on the screen, as well.

1:02:51
We're here for this convention,
1:02:53
and we're old friends
1:02:54
who met because of Star Trek,
1:02:56
and we're having
a 13-year reunion.

1:02:58
First time we've been together--
the 4 of us-- in 13 years.

1:03:01
We're so divergent in personality,
in backgrounds,

1:03:04
in our family styles
and everything,

1:03:07
and yet, we have
this common thread of Star Trek,

1:03:10
which keeps us together.
1:03:12
Remember when-- the first
convention we went to,

1:03:14
we'd forgotten what it was like.
1:03:16
And we were at the convention,
and we were all accepted.

1:03:19
And when we left and we went back home,
we had to act normal again.

1:03:22
[Laughter]
1:03:25
I think if there's one thing
in this world

1:03:27
that I will take to my grave
with me forever is the fans.

1:03:30
They are so loving, and they are
so warm, and they are so tender,

1:03:34
and if you go someplace,
like into a convention,

1:03:36
and you don't have
any friends there,

1:03:39
you don't know anybody there,
1:03:40
you really do
because they're all thinking--

1:03:42
somewhere along the line,
they're thinking like you are.

1:03:45
My family thinks
I'm the odd one of the family.

1:03:48
They think I'm totally weird,
but I found this club,

1:03:51
and I found out
I'm not the only one,

1:03:53
so I guess I'm not so weird
after all.

1:03:56
It's really great
to go to a convention,

1:03:58
and it's like a family reunion.
