:24:02
I suppose in one way you could
say that what happened

:24:05
at Columbine High School
is a microcosm, uh...

:24:07
of what happens
throughout the world.

:24:10
- You know the signs
that we see around here,

:24:13
the ones that say:
"We Are Columbine,"

:24:15
is that how you,
Lockheed Martin, feels,

:24:18
that you're the biggest employer
here in Littleton,

:24:20
you're the biggest weapons-
maker? "We Are Columbine."

:24:22
- I think we probably
embody that spirit,

:24:25
that, yeah, we're all members
of this community

:24:27
and that it behoves us to help
one another and to reach out

:24:30
to assist one another, yeah.
:24:32
- He told us that no one
in Littleton,

:24:34
including the executives
:24:35
at Lockheed, could figure out
why the boys at Columbine

:24:39
had resorted to violence.
:24:40
- Why would kids do this?
:24:42
Uh, some of the root of that
probably has to do

:24:47
with their anger
about various issues

:24:50
and we became aware of a program
:24:53
that provides
anger-management training.

:24:54
And so we made
a $100,000 contribution

:24:58
to the Jefferson County schools
to use this training

:25:01
in the schools. We hope to help
both teachers and students

:25:05
learn alternative ways
to deal with anger.

:25:09
- So you don't think our kids
say to themselves:

:25:12
"Well, gee, Dad goes off
:25:14
to the factory every day
and, you know,

:25:16
he built missiles." These
are weapons of mass destruction.

:25:20
What's the difference
between that mass destruction

:25:22
and the mass destruction
over at Columbine High School?

:25:26
- I guess I don't see
that connection,

:25:27
that specific connection,
because the missiles

:25:32
that you're talking about were
built and designed to defend us

:25:35
from somebody else who would be
aggressors against us.

:25:38
Societies and countries
and governments do things

:25:40
that annoy one another.
:25:42
But we have to learn
to deal with that annoyance

:25:46
or that anger or that
frustration in appropriate ways.

:25:49
We don't get irritated
with somebody

:25:51
and just 'cause we're mad
at them, uh,

:25:53
drop a bomb or shoot at them,
or fire a missile at them.
