:57:04
I remember seeing Bob
later on that evening...

:57:06
looking kind of blue, as though he hadn't...
:57:09
Hadn't made the point
that he wanted to make properly.

:57:12
He didn't want to feel that he was
limited here or limited there.

:57:17
He wanted to do something
with the Butterfield Blues Band.

:57:20
And it was great.
:57:23
Every night, after the concerts,
the festival people would have a party.

:57:27
And Bob was sitting in the corner,
I guess, thinking about what had happened.

:57:31
I said, "Hey, Bob. Do you want to dance?"
And he looked up at me and said:

:57:35
"I'd dance with you, Maria,
but my hands are on fire".

:57:39
And it's sort of like... That was
a cryptic remark, but I kind of knew...

:57:44
exactly what he meant, you know. So I said,
"Okay, man," and I just left him alone.

:57:48
We want Dylan!
:57:55
A couple of months later,
he played Forest Hills.

:57:58
There, the first half was acoustic,
the second half was rock 'n' roll.

:58:02
The electric half: silence, booing.
:58:05
At least 15, 20 kids ran on the stage
through the whole electric set.

:58:09
There would be somebody,
two, three times during a number...

:58:11
actually jumping on the stage
and running around amongst the musicians.

:58:17
And an incredible animosity in the audience.
:58:20
I think it was the only concert
I have ever been at where...

:58:22
that animosity was that strong
and you actually felt a little threatened...

:58:26
if you applauded during this, which I did.
:58:29
When we played Forest Hills,
Like a Rolling Stone was number one.

:58:34
And so when we played
Like a Rolling Stone...

:58:36
they stopped booing and sang along.
:58:38
And then when we finished
they started booing again.

:58:41
I thought that was great.
:58:43
I enjoyed that.
But at the party after the show...

:58:45
Bob came running up to us
and gave us big hugs, he said:

:58:49
"That was fabulous. It was great.
It was like a carnival. "

:58:53
It was fantastic. He really enjoyed the show.
:58:56
The booing didn't really, you know...
I had a perspective on the booing.
