avoir un pistolet braqué sur moi.
Je n'aime pas être menacé.
Quand il a enfin vu qu'il faudrait me tuer
avant d'avoir ma signature,
je suppose qu'il a abandonné
cette idée, car il a reposé son arme.
Il a ramassé le pistolet sur la table
et est sorti brusquement.
J'ai commencé par avoir
une conversation amicale avec lui,
pour essayer
de me faire une opinion à son sujet,
pour voir ce qu'il aimait
et ce qui lui déplaisait.
J'ai découvert très vite
qu'il avait peu de conscience.
Ce qu'il avait pu faire
ne le dérangeait pas vraiment.
Il avait fait d'autres choses
qu'il m'a racontées,
et qui ne semblaient pas le perturber
le moins du monde.
Son visage était sans expression.
Il aurait pu aussi bien parler
de la couleur du mur
que du meurtre d'un policier.

I guess he forgot the signature,
because he put his pistol up.
He took the pistol on the table,
put it up and stormed out.
I had a casual, friendly conversation
with him to start with...
to try to size him up...
to see what he liked and what he didn't like.
I found almost immediately
that he didn't have much conscience.
Anything he had done,
it never really bothered him.
He had done other things
that he told me about...
that didn't seem to bother him in the least.
He showed no expression whatsoever.
It's just like he's sitting here
talking about the color of this wall...
or the shooting of the police officer.
