Pulp Fiction
Pulp Fiction is a 1994 film directed by Quentin Tarantino and written by Tarantino and Roger Avary. It was released to critical and public acclaim and is regarded by many as a milestone in movie history, helping to establish an ascendant independent film movement in the United States. Its fragmented storyline, eclectic dialogue, irony and camp influences, unorthodox camerawork, and numerous pop culture references have since colored countless movies. Tarantino and Avary won Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay and the film was nominated for seven in total, including Best Picture. The film runs in non-chronological order as almost all of Tarantino's films do. This style of telling a story in a discontinuous order became a popular film trend that was widely mimicked throughout the 90s.

:03:25 Carl's Jr. Has this $6 burger,
which really only costs $3.95...
:03:29 ...so you think
you're getting some deal...
:03:32 ...but the truth is, it may be
the best franchise burger out there.
:03:36 I went there yesterday
and ordered three.
:03:39 By golly, those suckers
almost filled me up.
:03:43 When I got home,
I still had to have a box of Eggos...
:03:47 ...but that doesn't take away
from Carl's achievement.
:03:50 I mean, here's a guy who's got
to go through life as Carl Junior, right?
:03:55 Like he can never get out of the shadow
of his dad, the original Carl, I guess.
:04:00 Do you think this eating has to do
with thinking you killed your mother?
:04:04 That you're eating yourself
to death as punishment?
:04:08 - You do think you killed her, right?
- I never said that.
:04:13 She called out to you
from that big, fancy oak bed.
:04:16 - She said she was having chest pain.
- I never told you any of that!
:04:20 - How could you know this?
- She begged you to dial 911.
:04:23 But she was always calling out
for you, wasn't she, Barry?
:04:27 You weren't there. How could
you know what happened? How?
:04:35 Doesn't matter. What matters is,
you've got to stop blaming yourself.
:04:39 If you don't, you'll eat yourself
into an early grave for no reason.
:04:44 You're looking in my head!
Stop it!
:04:46 - Don't look in there.
- You don't have to do it, Barry.
:04:49 Leave me alone!
:04:53 It wasn't your fault.
