The Professionals The Professionals is a 1966 Western movie directed by Richard Brooks. A late setting kidnap-rescue story, it has a small group of experts heading into Mexico to rescue the wife of a wealthy Texan from several hundred bandits. The professionals are Burt Lancaster, Lee Marvin, Robert Ryan and Woody Strode; the bandits are led by Jack Palance; the kidnapped wife is Claudia Cardinale and her husband is played by Ralph Bellamy.
